Q: What drove you to start book blogging in the first place?

A: I started book blogging because I read a book that I loved so much I wanted to tell people about it. And also because I had always wanted to run a blog but had always failed (Horribly I might add) as I had never had a great topic to write about. As soon as I realised I could blog about books that I’ve read and that I would actually have fun doing that I set a blog up.

Honestly I had no idea beforehand there was such a thing called a Book Blogging Community until a few weeks after I had started blogging. When I stumbled over all these amazing blogs I suddenly wondered how I had no idea about this! It’s been pretty awesome discovering such cool people, reading books I would have never heard of otherwise and venturing into genres I would have never picked up if a favourite blogger I read hadn’t loved it so much.

It’s been quite the experience so far and I’m definitely still learning as I go!

Why did you start book blogging?

  1. Thanks for stopping by! I also really love the Blogging Community, they’re all like my friends!

I also see you are currently reading City of Bones. I seriously need to start on that but I feel like the cover is too distracting for me. lol at my issues

    anyways new follower :)

  2. I actually agree with your whole post. hahah. With other blogging communities it takes so much effort to think about what will be in each post. With books, you read one, you hate it or you love it and you tell everyone about it! Defs a top community. lol. It’s fun to be apart of (:

  3. Great answer! I honestly didn’t expect the community to be so big, either! And I never thought talking to people on the internet would grow so important to me and influence my life in so many different ways!

  4. I didn’t really know about the community either! It’s one thing I’m so grateful for – my blogger friends are absolutely fantastic!

Thanks for stopping by this weekend! I’m following back via RSS

  5. Me too, i had no idea about a book community until stumbling onto Katie’s vlogs on youtube where she did book hauls and then i saw a bunch of people talking about blogging etc…so i thought it was cool that i had a place to share my book interests. great answer and thanks for stopping by!

  6. Thanks for stopping by mine already! Following back =D

  7. It’s that what book blogging is all about? The discussion of books? Sometimes I think we all forget it’s not about who gets the newest ARC or the most followers. Sometimes I feel like I spend more time on that then actually talking about books.

Thanks for the follow. Following via RSS

    • One would hope that the discussion of books has not disappeared with book blogging. There may be a few blogs that have strayed from that but I’m sure the majority have a lot of reviews or discussion topics that discuss books. Besides, showing everyone what ARC you have received IS a discussion of books. It’s promoting new books out there that not everyone may have heard of which I love because then I discover new books! Although I do know where you’re coming from because that thought has crossed my mind and sometimes it still does.
