On The List #11

My TBR list gets longer and longer every week. I wanted a way to share the books that are on that list, so I decided on these posts. I might not exactly be reviewing these books straight away or any time soon but you never know, I could review them next!
Books I have decided to share On The List this week are:

Academy 7 by Anne Osterlund

With a past too terrible to speak of, and a bleak, lonely future ahead of her, Aerin Renning is shocked to find she has earned a place at the most exclusive school in the universe. Aerin excels at Academy 7 in all but debate, where Dane Madousin son of one of the most powerful men in the Alliance consistently outtalks her.

Fortunately Aerin consistently outwits him at sparring. They are at the top of their class until Dane jeopardizes everything and Aerin is unintentionally dragged down with him. When the pair is given a joint punishment, an unexpected friendship and romance begins to form.

But Dane and Aerin both harbor dangerous secrets, and the two are linked in ways neither of them could ever have imagined. . .

I’m not 100% sure about this but it does pique my interest, mainly because it sounds like a Sci-Fi that has a bit (or a lot) of romance in it. Which I love. So why not? It’s a stand alone book (What’s the proper word for these books?) which will be interesting considering I actually can’t remember the last book I read that was not part of a series…

Eve by Anna Carey

The year is 2032, sixteen years after a deadly virus—and the vaccine intended to protect against it—wiped out most of the earth’s population. The night before eighteen-year-old Eve’s graduation from her all-girls school she discovers what really happens to new graduates, and the horrifying fate that awaits her.

Fleeing the only home she’s ever known, Eve sets off on a long, treacherous journey, searching for a place she can survive. Along the way she encounters Caleb, a rough, rebellious boy living in the wild. Separated from men her whole life, Eve has been taught to fear them, but Caleb slowly wins her trust…and her heart. He promises to protect her, but when soldiers begin hunting them, Eve must choose between true love and her life.

This sounds really interesting! An apocalyptic genre! Or post apocalyptic? Sounds like it’s more apocalyptic than post. Or is it dystopian? It really doesn’t sound like a proper dystopian but I always get confused with what is(n’t?) classed as dystopian these days…
Anyway, I like the sound of this book! It sounds kind of exciting with romance and a bit of adventure. Sounds like a good mix. Let’s hope it’s as good as it sounds!

What’s new ‘On Your List’?

  1. I haven’t heard of the 1st book but i am quite interested to see what happens in it. I love a book with romance, and secrets, lol, i’m a sucker for them! terrible really haha.

I have Eve to read, it is on my kindle and it was on offer on Amazon last month (i think). I have considered reading it for a while and when i saw the offer, i knew i had to get it. I LOVE the cover!! I have heard great stuff about this book.

Love this ‘meme’ that you do xx

    • Ohh I find I must have a romance or love interest in a book I read! Otherwise I get pretty bored pretty fast… Although, I do have to say that books that have plot lines with the romance as the MAIN plot line usually fall veryyy short for me (Fallen by Lauren Kate for example), unless they are written so well that I can’t put it down!

Ohhh damn I am so guttered I missed that offer on Amazon! Hmm I have a tablet with an eReader app on it, but the tablet is so much like a computer screen that I don’t like using it to read… I’m pretty guttered about that because I bought it especially to use as an eReader and it reallyyy wasn’t cheap… Now I want a proper eReader with a different type of screen so I don’t get a headache when reading… :( The woes of life for me!

Yay! I’m glad you’ve heard great things about Eve!
