Favourite Cover Friday is where I show you book covers that I have come across and really liked. They may not be books I necessarily want to read, though I leave the summary for you to make your own judgement for yourself.
This week my favourite cover is:
Bridger by Megan Curd
Ashlyn McVean doesn’t believe in fairy tales. That is, until Ashlyn is thrown into the crosshairs of grudges her grandmother created long ago.
After finding out she is one of two people able to cross between faerie realms, Ashlyn is faced with trying to understand her abilities, along with navigating a new relationship with her boyfriend, Liam. As if being on a centuries old hit list and dealing with crazed pixies isn’t enough, her new abilities mean trouble for Liam.
Knowing her new life puts everyone she loves in danger, Ashlyn must decide what’s most important in her life between friends, family, love, and ultimately, realms.
Soo even I think this is a weird choice. But I like this cover. I am drawn to forests, I think they’re so pretty and magical. You probably think I’m weird right? Especially since if forests had magic it would probably be in the form of faeries, and I really dis-like faeries. They’re too dark natured for their own good.
I love the fog that’s just hanging around at the end of the bridge, it looks very ominous. I like that we’re at the beginning of the bridge and it takes up nearly half of the cover. It almost feels like the forest is ‘welcoming’ us in a way. Well, welcoming us into the story. I like the sun shining through the trees at the top, it doesn’t make the cover look dark even though we get that feeling.
This book actually sounds pretty interesting, especially from some of the reviews I’ve read. I think I might bite the bullet and check it out, even though I’m not into the whole fey thing.
This is the new cover for this book. I like this cover for the sound of this books summary, it still has a very woods-y and magical feeling about it. I also love the border around the cover and the font colour works better I feel.
