On The List #24

My TBR list gets longer and longer every week, I wanted a way to share those books, so I decided on these posts. I might not exactly be reviewing these books straight away or any time soon, but you never know, I could review them next!

A book I have decided to share On The List this week is:

Beastly by Alex Flinn

I am a beast.

A beast. Not quite wolf or bear, gorilla or dog but a horrible new creature who walks upright—a creature with fangs and claws and hair springing from every pore. I am a monster.

You think I’m talking fairy tales? No way. The place is New York City. The time is now. It’s no deformity, no disease. And I’ll stay this way forever—ruined—unless I can break the spell.

Yes, the spell, the one the witch in my English class cast on me. Why did she turn me into a beast who hides by day and prowls by night? I’ll tell you. I’ll tell you how I used to be Kyle Kingsbury, the guy you wished you were, with money, perfect looks, and the perfect life. And then, I’ll tell you how I became perfectly . . . beastly.

————————————————————————————————————–
I love Beauty and the Beast but I especially love retellings of Beauty and the Beast. I find Beauty and the Beast has the best retellings out there. I have never seen this movie but this book sounds pretty cool!

    • It does sound interesting doesn’t it? I love Beauty and Beast retellings more than any other retelling for some reason. Even though Cinderella is my favourite fairytale.

  1. I really liked Beastly. I love Beauty and the Beast as well – it’s one of my favorite fairytales. What is fun about Beastly is that it is told from the Beast’s POV. It’s a quick read, so whenever you decide to read it, it won’t take long.

The movie was a bit disappointing. They changed the ending. I wish they kept the ending the same.

    • Ohh that’s interesting that they changed the ending. Now I want to read the book even more to see how it ends and then find out how the movie ends to see why.

  2. I was so scared to read this book, because of the hidious movie poster. But after reading it, I was so happy with this retelling! There are some nice, new twists, but the basic of the story is the same: boy into beast (not some freaky guy with scars and swirls on his face), girl comes living with him, they fall in love <3 I still think Beauty and the Beast is the prettiest and best Disney movie ever. Not only because I adore Belle, but the whole "beauty comes from within" is fantastic. *fangirling*
