What I’m Reviewing #7

What I'm ReviewingThese are posts letting you know what books I am reviewing next. This gives you an idea of what to expect.
——————————————————————————————————–
Did Not Finish:
Born Wicked: I just wasn’t interested in it, I found it rather boring.

Last reviewed:
Graceling by Kristin Cashore (Loved it!)
The Girl of Fire and Thorns by Rae Carson (Very intense.)
Legend by Marie Lu (So exciting!)
Paradise 21 by Aubrie Dionne (Swoon worthy.)
Whispers in Autumn by Trisha Leigh (Very interesting.)

What I’m reviewing next:

Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi
I thought I would pic this up because it’s been getting five star reviews everywhere.

Enclave by Ann Aguirre
Everyone has raved about this, so I thought I would give it a go.

Throne of Glass eNovella’s by Sarah J. Maas
I really want to read these before I read The Throne of Glass so I thought I should read all four at once and do one review since they’re eNovella’s.

Living Dead in Dallas by Charlaine Harris
Ever since I received the Sookie Stackhouse box set in the mail I have been tempted to read all of the books in it, but I had so many books that I had borrowed from the library that needed to be read first because they were going to be returned soon that I couldn’t. Now I finally can read the next book! And the next… And you know what? Maybe even the next if I can fit it in!

Evermore by Alyson Noel
I bought this book on a whim quite a while a go, so I decided I needed to read this because it’s just sitting on my shelf.

The Lure of Shapinsay by Krista Holle
I received this book for review, and it sounds pretty awesome so I can’t wait to get stuck into it!

—————————————————————————————————————–
I’m trying to catch up on all the books that I haven’t read before getting to the newer ones on my to be read pile. There just aren’t enough hours in the week to read so many books!

What I’m reviewing next:

Born Wicked by Jessica Spotswood
Another Witch book! I actually requested this book from the library back in February but the hold line was so long that I only received it now to read!

Graceling by Kristin Cashore
Everyone raves about this book, saying how good it is. The summary sounds pretty awesome and I really wanted to know what everyone was talking about so I had to bump this up on my to be read list and get this out from the library!

The Girl of Fire and Thorns by Rae Carson
I read the summary of this book and thought it sounded really interesting, then I went and found a few reviews on a few favourite blogs that I have similar interests with and they all loved it a lot. So I thought how can I go wrong with that?!

Legend by Marie Lu
I decided to pick this one up because everyone is saying how good it is.

Paradise 21 by Aubrie Dionne
I’m dying for a little bit of space, so I decided on this one to quench that thirst.

Whispers in Autumn by Trisha Leigh
The cover is so gorgeous and the summary sounds so different and interesting that I definitely had to read this now.

A paranormal, a few science fiction, a bit of dystopian and a couple of fantasy’s. A mix that sounds awesome!

What I’m Reviewing #5

What I'm ReviewingThese are posts letting you know what books I am reviewing next. This gives you an idea of what to expect.
——————————————————————————————————–
Did Not Finish:
I could not finish reading Illuminate by Aimee Agresti. I found the pacing of the beginning very slow so I lost interest at about page 50, pushed my way to around page 100 then decided I really couldn’t keep reading because I had over 400 pages to go and I was bored. A shame because I had really wanted to like it and there are so many people that love it!
Alas that book was not for me.

Last reviewed:
Under the Never Sky by Veronica Rossi (Loved it!)
A Witch in Winter by Ruth Warburton (A little disappointing)
The Selection by Kiera Cass (A fun read)
Divergent by Veronica Roth (Absolutely amazing!)
City of Bones by Cassandra Clare (So glad I pushed my way through this one!)

I enjoyed every book that I ended up reviewing this time around which is great!

What I’m reviewing next:

Vampire Diaries: The Fury and Dark Reunion by L. J. Smith
I wasn’t a fan of the first two books in this series but I really wanted to find out what happened next.

Firelight by Sophie Jordan
I suddenly had the urge to get this out from the library because I wanted to see how a book written about dragons could be done.

Spellbound by Cara Lynn Shultz
I really wanted to read this one because it’s been on my to be read list all year.

Hex Hall by Rachel Hawkins
This is another book that I really wanted to read because it’s been on my to be read list all year. I really need to start making my way through that list!

Grave Mercy by Robin LaFevers
I’m rather surprised that I got this out from the library so quickly. I put it on my to be read list only because most reviews of this book are saying how good it is but I didn’t expect to read it so soon. I honestly think I just wanted to see what all the fuss was about. I’m expecting a very good book!

Vampire Diaries – The Return: Nighfall by L. J. Smith
I honestly keep reading this series because I love the show so much that I need to finish reading the books. Even if I’m not enjoying them that much. At least I will know what happened in the books and can say as much!
—————————————————————————————————————–
I am pretty excited to be reading and reviewing these next! I’m steadily making a start through my to be read list but I have noticed that every time I finish reading and reviewing a book, three more replace it… To be read lists are never ending. I swear. They will end when books stop being written. And I’m sure that would never happen!
The world would have to end before that happened. And even then, people would be writing their stories of the world ending…
Moving on…

What I’m Reviewing #4

What I'm ReviewingThese are posts letting you know what books I am reviewing next. This gives you an idea of what to expect.
——————————————————————————————————–
Did Not Finish:
I could not finish Outside In by Maria V. Snyder. I felt like Trella was extremely annoying and immature and about 100 pages in I realised I really couldn’t struggle through reading that any more. So I skimmed the rest of the book to find out what happened.

Just a note: This book felt like it was for an older audience. It was bordering on Adult in the romance sections in my opinion, it wasn’t quite adult though, I was very surprised actually.

Note:
You may have noticed that I’ve changed these posts to ‘What I’m Reviewing‘. That’s because I schedule these posts in advance so by the time they come out I’ve already read more than half of the books and I’ve scheduled the reviews in advance. I’ve decided to do this so if life gets in the way and I find I don’t have time to write posts that need to be up that week it doesn’t matter as the deadline is a week or two away!
I feel this is also good because then I have a chance to sit on the book for a while (Not literally!) so I can just come back and update my review if I feel the need, that way the review that comes out is my absolute final opinion and not just the emotions from the heat of the moment after just having finished reading the book!

Last reviewed:
Enders Game by Orson Scott Card
Dead Until Dark by Charlaine Harris

The Vampire Diaries: The Awakening by L. J. Smith
The Vampire Diaries: The Struggle by L. J. Smith
The Secret Circle:  The Initiation by L. J. Smith
The Secret Circle: The Captive by L. J. Smith
The Secret Circle: The Power by L. J. Smith

Now-

Here’s what I’m reviewing next:

Under the Never Sky by Veronica Rossi
Everyone seems to love this book so I decided I wanted to give it a go.

Illuminate by Aimee Agresti
I’m not sure what this one is about but I wanted to give it a go because of all of the good reviews I’ve read.

A Witch in Winter by Ruth Warburton
This one sounds interesting, I wasn’t 100% sure what this one was about before deciding to pick it up.
The Selection by Kiera CassDivergent by Veronica RothCity of Bones by Cassandra Clare
The Selection by Kiera Cass
I’ve wanted to read this book for such a long time now! I was pretty excited to finally get to it in my TBR pile!

Divergent by Veronica Roth
Eek I finally got to read this book!

City of Bones by Cassandra Clare
I tried to read this book at the beginning of the year but failed. I just couldn’t get stuck into it and the endless descriptions were tedious to get through. I’m determined to finish this book though and read the whole series. So now that I’ve put it on this post, I HAVE to read it! Here’s hoping I will be in the mood to tackle all the things I did not like the first time round!
—————————————————————————————————————-
A few dystopians and a lot of paranormal in this selection. I’m super excited to read all of these books!! I hope you’re looking forward to the reviews :)

What I’m Reviewing #3

What I’m Reviewing

WIR are posts where I will post what books I am reading and reviewing next from my to be read (TBR) list. I will post a new one every time I have reviewed all the books from the previous ‘What I’m Reading/Reviewing‘ post.

The only book I could not finish from my last What I’m Reading post was 400 Billion Stars. Nothing grasped me in that book, so I put it down after a few chapters and found I really didn’t want to pick it back up.

But here’s what I’m reading next:

Dead Until Dark by Charlaine Harris
I love True Blood so I really wanted to give the Sookie Stackhouse books a go!

The Secret Circle by L. J. Smith
I’ve watched a few episodes of the T.V. show so I thought why not try the books? I borrowed all three books so will be reviewing those.

Need by Carrie Jones
This one sounds interesting, I’m actually not 100% sure what it’s about so I’m just going to roll with it. Whenever I ‘roll with it’ I always seem to love the book! Maybe that’s because I have no expectations?

The Vampire Diaries: The Awakening by L. J. Smith
I love, love, LOVE the Vampire Diaries on the T.V. show! So I definitely had to try the books. Now with this series I’ve heard the T.V. show goes all over the place with story lines etc, so I’m intrigued to read these books. I’m not sure if I will enjoy them as much as the show though as I’ve heard that if you’ve watched the show before reading the books then you most likely won’t like it… Who knows, I’ll let you know what I thought once I’ve read it! I will be reviewing the second book as well as it was a two books in one book.

Enders Game by Orson Scott Card
Apparently the Ender’s Saga is supposed to be one of the best Sci-Fi series ever written. Let’s hope I think the same thing!

Outside In by Maria V. Snyder
To be honest I kind of want to just get this book over with. The faster I do it the less this book will dwell on my mind and the more I can move on to the books I’m dying to read!
————————————————————————————————————————–
After my Sci-Fi over load the past few weeks I decided I really needed a break from space. Especially since the space adventure I’m longing to read hasn’t been written yet… This time around it’s paranormal overload with a teeny bit of space. Lots of vampires, and a few witches in this selection! Totally looking forward to it :)

What I’m Reading #2

What I’m Reading

WIR are posts where I will post what books I am reading and reviewing next from my to be read (TBR) list. I will post a new one every time I have reviewed all the books from the previous ‘What I’m Reading‘ post.

I actually couldn’t finish my last WIR post because I got bored with the series’ I was reading from. Which is pretty unfortunate. So I decided that I will read those books at a later date after having a break from them. This time I have thrown a whole mix of books into the pot so I don’t get bored!

Therefore, what I’m reading next:

Cinder by Marissa Meyer
I have been very excited about this book for months! A retelling of Cinderella set in a Sci Fi plot? Cinderella being a cyborg? Love it!

Glow by Amy Kathleen Ryan
As soon as I read the summary of this book I’ve been dying to read it. Set on a space ship? Check. Romance? Check. Post apocalyptic? Check! It sounds really exciting and I can’t wait!

Inside Out by Maria V. Snyder
This one sounds interesting, I’m not too sure about it but I’ll see what happens. It’s set on a space ship, which I love, the main character sneaks around the upper leaves of the ship which are forbidden to her which sounds exciting, and she accidentally starts a rebellion which sounds catastrophic.

400 Billion Stars by Paul McAuley
This one could go either way I think. It’s a Sci Fi where humanity is fighting a war with an unknown enemy. Sounds pretty exciting so I hope I enjoy it!

Tangled Tides by Karen Amanda Hooper
Mermaids, Selkies, Sirens and Gorgons? Sounds interesting. The main character is turned into a mermaid by a merman that believes she is the key to saving his people.

ReVamped by Ada Adams
Everyone has been going crazy over this book lately. It’s about vampires but this one sounds different, the main character sounds like a kick ass vampire indeed!

x

I haven’t started reading any of these yet so what I’ve written above is what I got from the summaries of the books. Sometimes summary’s are interpreted differently to what the book is about (Which is weird, but I’ve come across and done it many times) so I could be completely wrong on what these books are about! I guess we’ll see!

There is a lot of Sci Fi this time round! I’ve been dying to read these books for a while, I’m so excited to start reading them!

What I’m Reading #1

 Hello there!

This is a new thing I’m going to be doing! I will post a blog called ‘What I’m Reading‘ (WIR for short) that is about what books I am reading and reviewing next from my to be read (TBR) list. I will post a new one every time I have reviewed all the books from the previous ‘What I’m Reading‘ post.

 What I’m Reading:

The Van Alen Legacy by Melissa De La Cruz
The fourth book in the Blue Bloods series.

Misguided Angel by Melissa De La Cruz
The fifth book in the Blue Blood series.

Lost in Time by Melissa De La Cruz
The sixth book in the Blue Blood series, but not the last!

Hunted by P.C. and Kristin Cast
The fifth book in The House of Night Series.

Tempted by P.C. and Kristin Cast
The sixth book in The House of Night Series.

Burned by P.C. and Kristin Cast
The seventh book in The House of Night Series.

I’m sure my next ‘What I’m Reading will be more interesting as there aren’t many series with more than three or four books like these two series’ that take up the whole post! Ironically at the moment they are all vampire books! With a hint of Angels.

You can read the my reviews on the Blue Bloods series here, and The House of Night series here.
